Exciting News from IXL

In talking to teachers over the last couple of weeks, I know there has been discussion about IXL and the Texas Standards. Where did they go? IXL rolled out a new interface that is pretty fantastic. Go to this page, click on your grade level and click on the standard. Super easy. The company contacted me this week to ask how we liked the new interface. I'll be glad to pass along feedback. Just email me.

TEKS Resource System Implementation Site

If you log into the TEKS Resource System to access your curriculum, you received an email a couple of weeks ago about the new TEKS Resource Implementation Site. The email came out of the blue, and you may have not even read it. No worries! Just use your TRS login credentials and use the password reset link to set up your password to access the site.

And why would you want to do that? Two words: Pacing Guide! The pacing guides are very helpful in helping you take your Instructional Focus Document apart to create daily lesson plans. I particularly like the suggestions for formative assessments attached to the daily planning guides.

If you are teaching a new subject, are new to the classroom, or are looking for new ways to approach your content, check out the pacing guides on the TRS Implementation Site. The link to the site has a permanent home under >ForStaff >Instruction & Digital Learning on the BISD homepage.

Mark Your Calendar:Digital Learning Day 2020

Digital Learning Day 2020 is February 27. Participating is a great way to celebrate how you are using technology to strengthen a student's learning experience. What a great way to showcase choice and making a world-wide impact. There are thousands of ways to participate: check out the list of activities/ideas. I can't wait to see our campus Twitter feeds blow up that day with #DLDay activities.
