Using Technology to Support Learning and Build Community
Our classroom walls are flattening! The first grade students at Hill Country Elementary and Alkek Elementary are using Flipgrid to share book reviews with each other. Fourth grade students at Alkek recently used virtual reality to explore landforms and erosion all over the world. Bandera High School students are using Flipgrid to provide book reviews to each other, and digital tools allow students in different class periods to participate in literature circles together. How cool is that?! BHS students participated in an even larger community of readers when they Skyped with author Carol Plum-Ucci earlier this month. BMS students will use digital tools to participate in World Read Aloud Day on February 1, 2019. Our teachers and students are taking their learning outside the classroom walls.
Using Technology for Blending and Assessing Learning
A quick stroll through Twitter feeds around the district show the diversity of learning, collaboration, and formative assessment taking place. These are just a few of the amazing learning opportunities that our students participate in. Thank you for sharing your story!
