Resources to Refresh Your Toolbox

True confession. I am a Pinterest addict. Over the years, I've collected resources for teaching, ideas for a kitchen remodel, and a multitude of other links to things I want to do or see or make. I love trolling through pins others have posted to get new ideas. So when I logged onto my TCEA Mobilize community this week, I was excited to see that a teacher had shared his list of curated resources for a wide variety of educational topics. I love it when teachers share with teachers. This Campus Instructional Technology Specialist posted in response to a request for resources for science, but his site is chock full of resources for other content areas, too. Happy reading!

Blended Learning Spotlight

Catlin Tucker is renown for moving the conversation about blended learning. She's going to present at TCEA in February. Lines to her session last year were extremely long, so if you attend the convention and want to hear her, get in line early! Fortunately, we can all benefit from Catlin's experience without attending TCEA! Her blog is a robust resource for tips, tricks, and guidance on implementing blended learning. One of her previous posts showed up in my Twitter feed this week. I think it's especially timely in October when "the shiny" starts to wear off the new school year. Check out Catlin's post, Students Learn More When THEY Do the Work. I love her reminder to reframe our question when planning. Instead of saying, "How can I...?" start with "How can my students...?" #gamechanger

In Case You Missed It

When the Digital Classroom Cohort 2 teachers visited Alamo Heights this month, they viewed the video below. Produced by Engage2Learn, the video does a great job of showing how teaching and learning in public schools has evolved and is evolving. If you missed this video in last week's BISD News, here it is again. (Can you tell I'm a fan?)
