Slide Shows, Summer Learning, Split Screen

Need to make a slide show for the end of the year?

Richard Byrne of Free Technology for Teachers offered some great tips in his recent blog. Drop the photos you need into a folder in Google Drive and use two add-ons to create a photo slide show with background music. You may need to tweak the cropping a little, but I've used Photo Slideshow add-on, and it's a true time-saver.

Promote Summer Learning

The link to the BISD Summer Learning Site is now live on the BISD homepage. Just click "Summer Learning Opportunities." Please promote this site to your students. It includes information about summer reading programs at the county libraries, reading incentive programs at nearby bookstores, and the schedule for the Bulldog Mobile. Plans are in the works to add additional content in the next two weeks. If you have a great website that you'd like your students to use over the summer to review math, science, social studies, ELAR, STEM, etc., please email me.

Need to view two webpages at the same time on a single screen?

In the past, I've used Tab Scissors and Tab Glue to view webpages side by side on my Chromebook, but last week one of our awesome elementary teachers emailed me a link to Split Tabs. It's a great tool for students and teachers alike. Check out The Techie Teacher's post for great tips on viewing tabs side-by-side on PC's, Macs, IOS  and Android devices, too.
