Discovery Education & Student Accounts
Bandera ISD subscribes to Discovery Education, which means that teachers and students have access to thousands of standards-based resources: videos, video segments, lesson plans, activities, etc. . According to the Discovery Education (DE) website, "Discovery Education accelerates school districts' digital transition through comprehensive standards-based content, professional development, formative assessment, and community engagement proven to positively impact student achievement." Teachers can create classes within DE, create boards of content, and use the site's robust advanced search feature to access content by grade level, TEK, or format. If you are looking for digital content to support your lessons, Discovery Education is a great place to start! See your campus librarian to get your school's access code.
Flubaroo: Grading in Google Forms
Flubaroo is a Chrome extension that quickly grades assignments and provides analytics of student assessments. Last week, Richard Byrne of Free Technology for Teachers published three new videos: "How to Enable Automatic Grading in Flubaroo," How to Accept Multiple Correct Responses with Flubaroo," and "How To Print Grades from Flubaroo." Check out these and other Flubaroo videos on his Flubaroo playlist.
Form Publisher
Form Publisher is a Google Forms add-on that "lets you generate files to present your data in a more suitable way, facilitating analysis, sharing and presentation." After you have created a Google Form and customized presentation template, Form Publisher generates files upon form submission, allowing you to share your presentation with your audience. Here's a short tutorial that shows how this add-on can streamline your workflow. Imagine using Form Publisher to email parents after they have selected a time for a parent conference using a Google Form embedded on your website, or using Form Publisher to generate an order confirmation for students who ordered t-shirts for a club or activity. Form Publisher would also be great for volunteer sign ups.
